According to The Desert Sun, South American Queen palms all over the Coachella Valley have been suffering for some time. At Moon Valley Nurseries, we realized that the Queen palms that have been struggling to survive in this desert region wouldn’t be able to keep up, so we began to, and continue to, custom-grow the majestic Piru Queen palm to be stronger and more tolerable than other Queen palm varieties.

We are proud to say that we have perfected the Piru Queen palm tree to be extra hardy to the cold as well as the heat so that it may thrive in our regions and cast a tall shadow on all other wannabes. We custom grow our Pirus in extremely hot summers, chilling cold winters and blustering windy days to acclimate them and prepare them for any weather familiar to the low desert. This gives them their best chance at not only surviving but at flourishing under any condition that may surprise us!

These Pirus have even improved all of the best qualities such as their majestic tropical looks, fast growth rate and 10 to 15-foot lush green fronds while incorporating the durability, permanence, and strength. The Piru features an even thicker and firmer trunk as well as greener palm fronds and fuller crowns than any other Queen palms.
