The desert favorite, Chilean Mesquite tree is perfect for nearly all landscapes. Their deep reddish-brown trunks are accented by small bright green leaves. While the Shumard isn’t evergreen, it has a very short dormant season based on our temperatures. These trees have large leaves with thick foliage. These trees have something the others on this list do not, they turn a beautiful red color in the fall giving you a sense of seasons to go with its cooling shade. These work great planted anywhere in your yard and also make great focal point trees when lite up at night.
