FICUS NITIDA
The Ficus Nitida is the #1 choice for our region when it comes to instant privacy. These fast growing trees perform well in every landscape and only require minimal maintenance and water, once established. They handle the heat extremely well and can be pruned into almost any shape. Because of these trees' extremely fast growth rate, they will block out any unwanted view in no time. These trees can also be planted right next to each other, allowing for maximum dense privacy.
CAROLINA CHERRY
Native to North Carolina and Texas, the Carolina Cherry has become a popular hedge and ornamental tree for many homeowners across our region. They have a natural upright canonical shape, but their adaptability to pruning makes them a great thick-foliage plant that can be pruned into other shapes as well. Carolina Cherries are drought and heat tolerant and require minimal watering once established. Their leaves are dark green and they bloom small, creamy white flowers in the spring.
ITALIAN CYPRESS
Sentinel of the Mediterranean, the Italian Cypress has lined formal entrances, borders, and backdrops for the grandest properties in the most picturesque cities on Earth. Unmistakable with their lush green foliage and tall, narrow upright form, these long-lived specimens of grandeur are well suited to modern living. Their natural ability to thrive in sunny climates on a minimal amount of water makes them a popular choice for just about any landscape.

JAPANESE BLUEBERRY
If you're looking to block out a view from a second story, look no further than the Japanese 'Green Emerald' Blueberry. This visually appealing evergreen is a fast grower with dense and lush dark-green foliage. It requires minimal maintenance and its narrow forms allow it to fit in those tight spaces. It thrives in the full sun and handles the cold quite well. It can be sheared into any shape and it produces small white flowers in the spring.
PODOCARPUS
This fern pine is prized for its low maintenance, clean evergreen look, and massive size. Homeowners can get creative with the shape of this evergreen or they can leave it alone to reach perfect heights for blocking out any unsightly views. One of the thickest trees we offer at Moon Valley Nurseries, the Podocarpus thrives in full sun to partial shade, can fit into tight spaces, and is a great option for any landscape. Many homeowners have used this evergreen as a barrier hedge.
