Roses are drop-dead gorgeous and the highlight of many summer gardens in Southern California. When we walk past a beautiful rose garden we can’t help but take notice; we’re drawn to them like bees to honey.
One of the best seasons in Southern California is right around the corner – Summer! But first, we have the month of May, and with it comes the need to prepare our landscape to enjoy the glorious SoCal sunshine. Yep, the weather is getting warmer, and we are starting to make plans so that we can host family get-togethers and barbecues in our yard. We are going to want to show off our beautiful yards! The good news is that we can plant the trees and flowers that create shade and add colors to our landscape. It's still spring, and the weather is great, so keep planting!
We can use the coolest succulent plants to create succulent gardens. These gardens let us enjoy a colorful yard filled with a broad range of diverse plants. The bonus is that the succulent plant can thrive in our local climate! Best of all, succulent gardens do not require too much water, time, or effort to look good. These types of gardens are not just water-wise. Succulents are also an excellent choice for firescaping. Use them to create a buffer zone in SoCal landscapes and to add curb appeal!
The days are getting longer, and the weather is perfect for enjoying the many outdoor activities we can do in Southern California. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Angels and San Diego Padres baseball teams are getting into the swing of things. We are prepping up our grills, putting on our board shorts, and planning family get-togethers. What about the bugs?
