These massive evergreens perform great when planted along property lines to add privacy from nearby neighbors and block noise out from your surroundings! [![TALK TO A NURSERY PRO ABOUT YOUR YARD!](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/1546852/e2cc2a4f-fbc8-41a3-9be8-d64aa6052536.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/1546852/e2cc2a4f-fbc8-41a3-9be8-d64aa6052536) An Indian Laurel hedge has lush, dense foliage and strong, softwood branches. It can be pruned into almost any shape, but we love to let these grow large and tall to create more hedge density, allowing it to make the privacy hedge more secure.   ## ![Ficus nitida hedge in landscape with plumeria flower](https://blog.moonvalleynurseries.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled%20design%20(19)-3.png?width=400&name=Untitled%20design%20(19)-3.png)Benefits of Hedges in Your Property There are many benefits to adding a hedge to your home or property. They can create a tranquil environment as they surround your property with cleaner air and a greener space. They can also add curb appeal to your home while still offering total privacy from your surroundings. ### Curb Appeal The aesthetic benefit is apparent as soon as Hollywood hedges are planted in your yard. A row of Indian Laurel Columns can transform your yard in the blink of an eye by adding a classic, formal look. ### Privacy Another essential benefit to planting Ficus hedges in tight rows is that you will have an extra layer of privacy for your yard and home. With the added privacy and security, you might be more inclined to spend time outside enjoying the backyard, as it creates a personal oasis for you and your family.   ## ![Super Charged Moon Juice™ at Moon Valley Nurseries](https://blog.moonvalleynurseries.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled%20design%20(20)-4.png?width=400&name=Untitled%20design%20(20)-4.png)How to Care for Your Hollywood Hedges Our Hollywood Hedges love the full sun! Most hedge materials can be in full sun, but the Ficus nitida hedges thrive under high sun exposures. They can tolerate shady spots, but they prefer to soak in the sun to get their full growth benefits. To keep your Indian Laurel hedge looking green and staying strong, we recommend applying [our Moon Dust fertilizer](https://www.moonvalleynurseries.com/moon-dust) as directed and supplementing it monthly with our [Super Charged Moon Juice](https://www.moonvalleynurseries.com/supercharged-moon-juice). As all plant development is unique based on multiple factors, monitor your plants to see if you need to re-adjust your fertilizing schedule.
