Spring is the best time to start planting beautiful trees. During this time of the year, the weather heats up, we have longer days, and the trees of spring are waking up! We know that trees can create a better living environment, from Northwest Las Vegas to South and Central Las Vegas, trees will always be a welcome addition to our arid environment. Before we know it, the temperatures will soar, and we are going to want to find a spot to cool off for a bit – a shade tree is calling our name!

Trees of Spring Provide Shade, Privacy, and Beauty!

Shade trees and privacy trees can help increase property value while adding some greenery to our environment! From trees for small spaces to drought-tolerant varieties, you can find the perfect trees at any of our Las Vegas area Moon Valley Nurseries locations.

These trees are a favorite throughout the Las Vegas area! Homeowners rave about the large canopy that can cast a massive amount of shade. With proper planting around a house, we can use them to help reduce the temperature on a hot side of a home. They are also drought tolerant, so they are an excellent tree for any water-wise landscape.

Homeowners in Las Vegas rave about the low-maintenance features of this deciduous shade tree. It is a seedless variety and can withstand the extreme conditions of the winter and summer months. Specimen size trees can provide a perfect shady spot in the yard. In the fall, the small, dark green leaves can turn to a vibrant golden color!

We live in the desert, so we know that the temperatures are going to soar. The good news is that we can plant a specimen size Australian Bottle tree and let the distinctive canopy shape provide a massive amount of shade! Proper planting around a home may be able to lower the temperatures on the hot side of a house. We like to plant them in rows throughout the Las Vegas area, where they can be used as an effective windbreak.

Magnolia:
This is a favorite ornamental tree throughout neighborhoods in Las Vegas. It is easy to see why! It can produce large, fragrant creamy-white flowers that blossom in spring, and it can enhance the look of any landscape with lustrous dark green leaves. Magnolia trees grow in an oval, pyramidal shape, and can add prominent color and shade anywhere we plant them! Enjoy the scent and sight of a charming Magnolia tree!

We like to plant these elegant evergreen trees as a quick way to add beauty to any yard. The warm Las Vegas weather brings out the tiny, scented flowers clusters that create a beautiful contrast with its lush evergreen foliage. Their dense foliage makes them an excellent choice for turning it into a privacy screen that can block unwanted views in style. The leaves put on a show, too – bronze-colored leaves emerge in spring before eventually maturing to their rich, shiny dark green color.
