Top Trees To Add Pink Flowers in Your Yard
Flowering trees are one of the best signs that the spring season is here. Fortunately for us, our climate allows us to plant a wide range of flowering trees from all over the United States and the world that produce purple, white, yellow, red, and pink flowers not just in the spring, sometimes even into the summer!
Crape Myrtle
The Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia) is our favorite and it is the #1 selling flowering tree at Moon Valley Nurseries due to its ability to offer something for every season. The spring season is when this tree really shines with its large clusters of flowers (think football size) that cover this entire tree. The blooms are long and can last until late summer. At Moon Valley Nurseries, we offer this tree as a single-trunk or multi-trunk. In addition, the Crape Myrtle trees grown at Moon Valley Nurseries are superior thanks to mildew resistance, which you will not find anywhere else.
Oleander
These trees just love the hot summer months, which makes them an ideal flowering tree for your landscape. The Oleander, Nerium oleander) displays a long lasting bloom that comes in clumps of red, white, and pink. The blooms are vibrant may extend into the wilder winter months. Ideally planted in groups or rows, the Oleander is a great tree for our customers who are seeking privacy hedges, area screens, and property border because of the trees ability to keep a thick coat of dark green leaves throughout the year. We offer tree and shrubs versions of the Oleander at Moon Valley Nurseries.
Desert Willow
Named for its resemblance to Willows, this drought-tolerant and water-wise tree performs well in any landscape in our region. This hardy tree handles extreme temperature ranges and produces exotic-looking blooms from May to September. This fast grower requires little maintenance and does best with just enough water to keep it green and blooming throughout the warm summer months. Also of note, the Desert Willow comes in a variety of cultivars with remarkable differences in flower color, leaf form, and branching characteristics.
Purple Leaf Plum
If you want to turn heads on your landscape, the Purple Leaf Plum is an excellent pick. This deciduous tree features magnificent deep-purple foliage and breathtaking blooms of puffy pink flowers in early spring. Though it can be planted alone, the Purple Leaf Plum really stands out in accent locations and against green backdrops, allowing its purple foliage to really stand out. It's cold and heat tolerant and as an ornamental tree, the Purple Leaf Plum produces no fruit and practically no litter. An excellent addition to any space where strong color is desired.
