Six Shrubs That Refresh Your Yard - All $14.99

If you're deciding which shrubs to add to a bed, a border, or a privacy screen, it helps to know what each variety actually needs and does before you plant it. Below is a quick reference for six varieties currently available at $14.99 at all our Arizona locations!

Lantana White

Lantana camara 'White'

wl

The Lantana is a heat-tolerant, drought-tolerant flowering shrub that blooms in small white clusters from spring through fall in most climates, often nearly year-round in mild winters. It grows in full sun, reaches roughly 2–3 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, and requires infrequent watering once established. It's commonly used as a border plant, a filler in mixed beds, or a groundcover-style planting along walls, and it attracts butterflies and other pollinators. Get more info here!

Lantana Purple

Lantana camara 'Purple'

pl

Lantana Purple shares the same growth habit, size, and care requirements as Lantana White, with violet-purple blooms instead of white. It tolerates heat and poor soil well and is considered low-maintenance once its root system is established, typically within the first growing season. Because its bloom color and habit closely match Lantana White, the two are often planted together for contrast. Full details on our Lantana product page.

Green Cloud (Texas Sage)

Leucophyllum frutescens 'Green Cloud'

tcs

Green Cloud is a Texas Sage cultivar known for silver-green foliage and lavender-purple blooms that appear in flushes after rainfall or humidity spikes, rather than on a fixed schedule. It's highly drought-tolerant once established and typically reaches 5–6 feet tall and wide, making it a common choice for informal hedges, privacy screening, or windbreaks in arid and semi-arid climates. It requires full sun and well-draining soil, and generally needs minimal pruning to hold its shape. Full details on the Green Cloud product page.

Orange Jubilee

Tecoma stans 'Orange Jubilee'

blogbloggy

Orange Jubilee, commonly referred to as the OJ Bush, produces trumpet-shaped orange flowers from spring through fall and is one of the faster-growing shrubs on this list, often adding 2–3 feet of growth per year under good conditions. Mature size typically ranges from 6–8 feet tall and wide, depending on pruning. It requires full sun and moderate water during establishment, tapering to drought tolerance once mature. It's frequently used as a specimen shrub, an informal screen, or a color anchor in a mixed bed. Full details on the Orange Jubilee product page.

White Oleander

Nerium oleander 'White'

wo

White Oleander is an evergreen flowering shrub producing white blooms through most of the warm season. It's highly drought- and heat-tolerant once established and commonly used for privacy screening, road-facing plantings, or windbreaks, typically reaching 8–12 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide at maturity, though it can be pruned smaller. All parts of the oleander plant are toxic if ingested by humans or animals, so it's best sited away from areas where pets or children are likely to come into contact with fallen leaves or flowers. This is standard guidance for the species and doesn't affect its performance as a landscape plant. Full details on the Oleander product page.

Barbara Karst Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea 'Barbara Karst'

bloggyblog

Barbara Karst is one of the most widely planted bougainvillea cultivars, known for vivid magenta-red bracts (the colorful part is technically modified leaves, not petals) that appear most heavily in warmer months. It can be grown as a mounding shrub or trained as a climbing vine depending on support structure, and mature size varies widely with training — anywhere from 3 feet as a contained shrub to 15+ feet as a climber. It requires full sun, tolerates drought well once established, and has thorns, so placement away from walkways or high-traffic areas is recommended. Full details on the Barbara Karst Bougainvillea product page.
