The 2019 spring season is now officially here, and the weather could not be more perfect! Most of you are probably enjoying some camping and hiking or having barbeques in the back yard this time of year. Since you have been spending more time outside, you may have been looking closely at your own yard and starting to think of ways to update the landscape.
We are only days away from entering the spring season (it officially starts March 20th). For Las Vegas, our spring season is even looking to match up with the rest of the country’s schedule! We have had rain, AND snow, consistently over the last few months. With all that previous rain and the sunny days showing up now, you might see that some parts of your landscape, if not all, are already starting to grow again.
This year commemorates a significant milestone for Moon Valley. We have been growing trees, creating and rebuilding landscapes, and changing lives for 25 years!
Benefits of Growing a Personal Fruit Garden
Backyard farming and gardening have become a popular hobby over the last decade. There are many reasons that could factor into the huge upward trend of growing our own food these days such as convenience and safety. With the constant concern about what is being used to grow our fruit at a commercial level, people have slowly been turning into their own grower.

Moon Valley Nurseries Yard To-Do List
It is kind of hard to believe that it is already March, especially since Las Vegas was just hit with lots of rain AND snow! Despite what our surprise weather thinks, spring is just a few weeks away and warm days are, in fact, on the way. This is usually the time of the year where we recommend putting in a bit more effort toward your yard now. We are especially excited because the rain and (now melted) snow that dropped on our yards are an amazing bonus for helping our yards succeed sooner and stronger.

While most places in the world cannot even think about planting anything until mid-late spring, Las Vegas is quite different. Our awesome weather gives us the opportunity to plant almost any time of the year. With the weather being colder this time of year, it’s important to make sure you are planting trees and plants that can handle that cold and still thrive. Moon Valley Nursery experts have put a list of the best hedges, shade trees, flowering trees, and palms to plant in late winter so keep reading to learn more!
